At Heart & Home, we know how difficult it can be for a family caregiver who is providing care and support to an elderly loved one while also managing their personal and professional responsibilities.

Family caregivers usually have no formal training to guide them in this role that is often assumed suddenly, and not necessarily by choice, after a loved one's health crisis. To address the needs of our clients' families and family caregivers throughout our local communities, Heart & Home conducts a complimentary series of American Red Cross Family Caregiver Training classes. The classes are designed to help family caregivers, or others caring for a loved one, by teaching them basic caregiving skills, helping them understand key legal, financial and medical issues, and teaching caregivers the importance of caring for themselves. Each class lasts about one hour, so that the classes can fit into the busiest of schedules.
